Scott praises local schools at Young Scientists
Greystones Cathaoirleach Councillor Lourda Scott visited exhibitions from secondary schools across Co. Wicklow at the Stripe Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition 2026 today.
Speaking afterwards Cllr Scott says: “I had the pleasure of attending the Young Scientist exhibition and spoke to the students who were presenting their research today . Having worked on a PhD myself I am well aware of the countless hours of preparation that go into this. For young people to come up with such a range of ideas and depth of research was really impressive. I was blown away by the quality of the presentations and each and every student spoke with confidence about their project. They are a great credit to their schools and the support from their teachers was also very clear. Congratulations to everyone involved. The exhibition as a whole was energising and showcases the best that our young people across the country have to offer. I am excited to see what their future holds for them. The exhibition is open until Saturday and I would encourage everyone to drop into the RDS, support our local students and be inspired by what’s on offer.”
