Greystones - Delgany Local Planning Framework
At the October meeting of Wicklow County Council, elected members voted to amend Proposed Variation No. 4 to the County Development Plan 2022–2028 and the Draft Greystones-Delgany Local Planning Framework.
This decision followed several months of detailed work by Greystones Municipal District Councillors, who spent considerable time examining the draft plan and reviewing the many submissions received from the public.
Speaking after the meeting, the Cathaoirleach of Greystones Municipal District Lourda Scott paid tribute to the collaborative effort of the Councillors:
“I want to acknowledge the hard work of my colleagues in the Greystones. We have all shared the same goal of securing the best possible plan for our community. Over the summer, and particularly in recent weeks, we have spent many long hours together reviewing this plan in detail.
We went through every submission carefully, often several times, discussing and refining our ideas. While we did not always agree on every point, we maintained a respectful and constructive dialogue throughout. What united us was a shared commitment to do what is right for the people we represent and to ensure that this plan delivers real benefits for our community.
I would also like to sincerely thank all the staff in Forward Planning for their time and patience in supporting members through this process. Their professionalism and dedication have been invaluable and very much appreciated.”
There are still several steps to complete before the Local Area Plan is formally adopted.
