Scott welcomes Sporting Greystones new pitch

I was delighted to join members of Sporting Greystones FC celebrate the opening of their new pitch at Archer’s Wood.  This is a fantastic milestone for a club that has worked so hard to provide opportunities for local players of all ages and abilities.

I have been working with the club for a number of years to help secure additional facilities, and I know first-hand what a milestone getting this pitch is. It shows what positive steps can be taken can happen when we work together. However I am aware that the club still needs more space to meet demand. Access to proper facilities is critical if we want to support young people and build a stronger sporting community here in Greystones.

Sporting Greystones FC is a credit to all of the volunteers who give up so much of their time to make this club what it is. As Cathaoirleach of the area I will continue to work with them and Wicklow County Council to continue supporting their work.
